Test Your Home for Radon and Mould

Did you know that Canadians spend approximately 90% of their time indoors? Much of that time is spent in your own house. While your home should be your safe haven, poor indoor air quality caused by radon gas or mould growth can lead to serious health risks to you and your family.

Some common symptoms associated with poor indoor air quality include:

  • Irritation of the eyes, nose and throat
  • Coughing, increased asthma symptoms
  • Headaches, dizziness and flu-like symptoms
  • Fatigue
  • Respiratory and heart diseases
  • Cancer

Indoor air quality can be impacted by mould growth, radon gas seeping into your home, fumes from wood-burning fireplaces and stoves, dust mites, pet hair and dander, poor plumbing and pests such as cockroaches.

The only way to know for sure if poor indoor air quality is impacting your health is to conduct an air quality test. Some indoor air pollutants, such as radon gas, don’t show any obvious exposure signs or symptoms for many years. However, radon gas exposure is the number one cause of lung cancer in non-smoking individuals.

Indoor air quality testing will help you discover any hidden risks in your home so you can keep your family safe. Get your home tested today.

Indoor Air Quality Testing Packages and Kits

Radon gas and mould growth can both have a serious impact on your health. Radon is a colourless, odourless and tasteless gas–without a test, it is impossible to know if there are high levels of radon in your home. Because radon is a naturally occurring gas, all homes in Canada have some level of radon in them. However, the World Health Organization standard for acceptable levels of radon in a home or business is 100 bq/M3 - many homes in Ontario have levels much higher than the standard.

While you can see mould, it often grows in hidden places, causing problems and spreading for months or years before it’s discovered. Check out the options below to find a package that’s best for you and your home.

Comprehensive Test My Home Package

$425

Your one-stop shop for air quality testing! When you choose the Test My Home package, we will come to your home and test for both radon and mould in partnership with Good Bye Mould, Kitchener-Waterloos' trusted source for mould removal services. A radon test is conducted over the course of a few months to get the most accurate reading. Once complete, you will receive all your radon readings and a lab report for the mould results. Lab results are available for mould readings within 48 hours. If we find any problems, you’ll also receive a prescribed remediation plan for radon mitigation and/or mould removal based on both reports.

Radon Test Kit and Mitigation Service

$55 (refunded if Radon Gas Guys provide the remediation system if needed)

Radon dosimeters are cost-effective and easy to use, making it a simple solution to find out if your home has excess levels of radon gas. Installed in the lowest level of your home or building, the dosimeter records an average radon level over a 3-12 month period, as outlined by Health Canada. Following the minimum 91-day test, homeowners must then send the results to a lab for analysis and results.

What Customers are Saying

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Go with Rick if you need to install a radon mitigation system for your home! I have been pushing off getting this done and my number was at an average of 1200 BQ/m3 after about 8-9 months of testing. I finally decided that I needed to get this installed and emailed Rick. Rick came to my house a couple days after to see where he could install and to give me a quote. I shook his hand and 2 days later he was at my house and he installed the mitigation system. Its been a week and my number dropped to an average of 18 BQ/m3. Thanks again Rick!”
